Shared Education (Aspire) in Nursery
The Nursery children were so excited to welcome the children from St. Peter's Nursery Unit to Orritor. This year our shared sessions will focus on physical development and inclusion.
We split into two groups with half the children playing in Nursery and the other half going to the hall to take part in sessions with Ronan from FitMinds. The children really enjoyed playing in Nursery and it was lovely to see how the children interacted and played together.
In the hall Ronan started the session by getting the children to introduce themselves to each other and find a partner. To warm up the children had to find different ways of moving around the hall together. The partnerships were then given a task to hold hands and place the pompoms in a cup using clothes pegs. That really tested the children's fine motor skills and teamwork. They worked so well together and we were so proud.
We then played a game that helped us get to know each other. We had to place our shoes in a pile and the run u up get a shoe and find the person who owned. This was a great way of talking to our new friends and finding out a little bit more about them
Finally we played some games like stuck to the wall! Even Mr Cheevers got stuck to the wall. We had to listen really well and follow Ronan's instructions. We ended the session with Ronan's favourite dance. We did it!
We can't wait to travel to St. Peters in two weeks. The lovely children from their school have invited us back to their school to play. We can't wait!
A big thank you to the parents who came and made this trip possible. Thank you for coming and we are so glad you had a great time.
