Safe and Sound
P3 have been learning about personal safety, especially road safety and playing safely in the park.
They observed and identified the different types of vehicles passing school one morning.
They also had the opportunity to watch the road service repair the footpath and see how the traffic was controlled using temporary traffic lights.
During Activity Based Learning they have been making vehicles, painting places with potential dangers, role playing emergency scenarios and finding out about road safety using games on the internet.
Our local paramedic, Robin Kane, visited our class to tell the children about his work, the vehicles used and the correct way to make an emergency call, if necessary! They had fun trying out some of his equipment and enjoyed asking him questions before finishing off with a quiz.
Thank you Robin. We hope you like our ambulance pictures.
