Play dough fun
15th Feb 2017
We had lots of fun at our after school play dough workshop. The nursery children helped their big people to make play dough! We had lots of fun and only got a bit messy!
Play dough is always a favourite area in Nursery. It is a fantastic tool for developing our finger strength and fine motor skills.
Some ideas for play dough fun at home:
- rolling, squeezing and tearing the dough
- rolling with rolling pins
- make buns with pastry cutters - can you count your buns?
- make shapes
- make pictures
- cut with scissors
- make patterns with shells, leaves and stones
- cut with knife and fork - good practice for dinner
- weigh it and feel different weights
- make roads for cars and tractors
- Form letters and numbers.
Thank you to all the children, parents, childminders, friends and big people who came along. We hope you had fun!
