P5 had a fun and exciting week combining art and maths. Inspired by the artist M.C Escher, P5 created their own tessellating fish pattern. Our patterns were combined together to create one large class picture which showcases our creative and engaging way to connect art with maths. We created colourful repeated patterns by exploring how shapes can fit together without gaps or overlaps, using our knowledge of geometry. We had to think carefully about how to translate, rotate and reflect each shape.
