Olympic Visitor - David Ames
It was great to welcome GB hockey captain and former pupil, David Ames, into school this morning. David, who has had an illustrious career in field hockey, played in his third Olympic Games in Paris over the summer.
He was instrumental in several key matches, including the thrilling quarter-final against Germany, where his defensive skills were crucial in securing a victory.
Besides the Olympics, David has also represented GB in numerous other prestigious tournaments, including the Commonwealth Games and the Hockey World Cup.
David was happy to talk to the children, share his experiences, and take some photographs. He also got a photo with Pippa, the first winner of the David Ames Hockey Cup.
We appreciate the visit and, as a school, we are extremely proud of all your achievements, including your contributions to the sport and your inspiring journey from our school to the global stage.
