Well done to Ashley, one of our Year 7 pupils.
Ashley plays for Cookstown Youth FC (2013's). They got to the bowl final in the Mid Ulster Youth League and played against their opponents, Dungannon United Youth on Saturday.
They played an amazing match going 1-nil down in the first half. Brought it back to 1-1 in the second half on the final whistle. They then played extra time and held on to take part in a very nerve wrecking penalty shoot out!
Cookstown Youth went first and scored 1st, 2nd missed 3rd, scored 4th and 5th penalties. Dungannon scored 1st, 2nd, 3rd, missed their 4th which equalised the score leaving one more penalty to decide the winner before sudden death. Unbelievably the Cookstown keeper saved their 5th giving Cookstown the win!
