British Science Week
All classes had a focus on Science 🧬 this week.
P3 led an Assembly telling facts about penguins and how they change and adapt to their climates. 🐧
We thought about lots of changes which happen during the year and how plants, animals and people adapt to change.
We heard about the importance of learning about ‘The World Around Us’ 🌎 through asking questions and learning by discovery!
We watched a clip about Alexander Fleming, his discovery of penicillin and how it became an antibiotic used to treat lots of infections, during the Second World War and is still being used today. He was boy who loved asking questions and became a very famous doctor. 👨⚕️
P3 sang a song called ‘One World’ reminding us of the need to care for our world as we only get one chance.
The highlight of Science Week was a visit from Adam, Mini Professors, with a theme of Magic v Science. All classes were intrigued by experiments on colour and chemical reactions! Some classes are even growing their own snow! ❄️
