Today was a truly memorable day at Orritor Primary School and Nursery Unit. After break, we gathered for a special assembly to celebrate our amazing pupils at our end-of-month awards. Mr. Wilbert Mayne, our Chair of Governors, presented the awards to our deserving children.
But today was also bittersweet. Mr. Cheevers shared with the children that Mr. Mayne would be retiring from his role as Chair of Governors. For the past 28 years, Mr. Mayne has been a pillar of support and guidance for our school. His dedication and contributions cannot be overstated. We are deeply grateful for everything he has done, and he will always have a special place in our hearts and in the halls of Orritor Primary School and Nursery Unit .
To honor Mr. Mayne, two of our Year 7 pupils presented him with a heartfelt gift from the school, and the Board of Governors also gave him a token of their appreciation. It was a touching moment that highlighted the deep respect and affection we all have for him.
After the assembly, Mr. Mayne joined the staff and other governors for a lovely lunch.
Thank you, Mr. Mayne, for your incredible service. You will be greatly missed, but your legacy will continue to inspire us all.
