🎄 December fun and learning in Nursery 🎅
18th Dec 2024
🎄 Nursery have had a very busy December. We have had a Nursery elf who brought us a different Christmas surprise each day. The children took it in turns to open the presents and had lots of fun exploring the different things Elfie sent us to do. Here are photographs of some of the things we have been doing in Nursery... 🎅
- Making Christmas creations with the construction blocks and loose parts. Can you see our Christmas trees, sleigh and Santa's house at the North Pole?
- Drawing, creating and painting Christmas pictures and collages.
- Using our fine motor skills to roll the dough and decorate snowmen, Christmas trees and Gingerbread men.
- Exploring printing with different shapes.
- Investigating why Santa's sleigh landed in our hall!
- Creating transient art Christmas trees.
- Dressing up and exploring role-play in the Christmas house.
- Sorting Christmas decorations for our own criteria - we are been very interested in shiny and sparkly.
- Drawing and writing in the magical starry Christmas sand at the new lightbox.
- Using long handled spoons to fill the tiny Christmas buckets to make sandcastles.
- Exploring mark making, cutting, hole punching and stamping at our Christmas mark making area.
- Looking at balance and size with the cones and baubles.
- Decorating tiny Christmas trees, using our fingers to place the ornaments on the tree.
- Making our own reindeer food.
- We had a visitor from a very special guest who told us all the Nursery children were on the good list!
- Having lots of Christmas fun and working well with our classmates.
🌟 A very Happy Christmas to all the Children in Nursery. We are so proud of the work you have done this month. You are little Christmas Stars. 🌟
